DESCRIPTION :
These are finest quality oils designed for steam engine cylinder and valve lubrication. They are
also suitable for other purposes, such as the lubrication of heavily loaded slow-moving bearings
and gears.
All the oils are prepared from selected base cylinder stocks to achieve the desirable
characteristics of high flash point and oxidation stability. The pure mineral grades possess good
demulsibility, so that when used for the lubrication of the cylinders of high speed, totally
enclosed steam engines, they do not materially reduce the demulsibility of the crankcase oil.

  CASTROL AIRCOL SN RANGESynthetic air compressor oils
  DESCRIPTION
  Aircol SN air compressor lubricants are formulated using high quality synthetic ester base stocks with an additive system designed toenhance thermal and oxidation stability and reduce component wear.
  APPLICATIONS
  Aircol SN lubricants are primarily intended for use in reciprocating air compressors. However they may be used in certain types of turbo-charger, where they will provide significant in-service benefits when compared with mineral based lubricants.
  FEATURES/BENEFITS
  The performance of Aircol SN compressor oils offer the followingspecific benefits:•Less maintenance.•Extended crankcase drain periods.•Cleaner operation.These results from the superior oxidation stability of Aircol SN,which minimises carbon build up and provides extended valve life.In reciprocating units, the Aircol SN grades can last up to eighttimes longer than mineral oils.Improved lubricity and film strength allows for a reduction in thefeed rate to the cylinder walls and piston rings with no detrimentaleffect. Since less lubricant is consumed, the downstream air is ofhigher quality.
  Reduced compressor downtime, higher film strength and excellentanti-wear properties mean less wear on all moving parts, providingfor a longer machine life expectancy and less repairs.Aircol SN has improved low temperature performance for easierstart-up operation, its low pour point allowing for easier initial circulation. The low frictional properties and high film strength ofAircol SN lead to improved efficiency and marginally lower powerrequirements.Aircol SN's high auto ignition temperature gives greater safety byreducing the possibility of downstream fires and explosions. Inaddition, the high solvency of Aircol SN leads to less varnish andcarbon build up and thus cleaner operation.
  APPROVALS STATUS
  Aircol SN is approved by ABB Turbo Systems Ltd as a “List 3” Synthetic oil.
  CARE AND HANDLING
  Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with skin. Wash thoroughly after handling.
  PACKAGING AND STORAGE
  All packages should be stored under cover. Where outside storageis unavoidable drums should be laid horizontally to avoid the possible ingress of water and the obliteration of drum markings.
  Products should not be stored above 60°C, exposed to hot sun orfreezing conditions.
